Get Out There
Slam Dunk Some Fun This Fall
Get on the court for some competition and fun with Bulldog League, Snohomish County's premier 5-on-5 basketball league. But this isn't just any recreational league, Bulldog maintains stats for all players, has playoffs for all teams, and provides officiating and scorekeeping for all games. Each season also includes a charity All-Star Night for each division.
Players can join as one or sign-up as a team for the Men's, Women's, or Co-Ed leagues that are forming now. Play begins in November for the Everett Sunday league at Everett High School and the Everett Monday league at Evergreen Middle School.
Tyson Nelson, who lives and works in Everett, has played for the Bulldog League for two-years with his co-workers. "The Bulldog League is great!" says Nelson. "They split the teams into divisions so we all have the opportunity to play other teams at our same skill level. I love this league and will be in it for many seasons to come!"
Prefer to sit courtside? Spectators can enjoy the action-packed games for free.

Michael Nicholas
Role: Malcolm in "The Full Monty"
Q: How long have you been performing?
A: I did my first show (Oklahoma!) while I was in high school.
Q: What has been your all-time favorite role?
A: I don't really have a favorite, but definitely have roles that I have loved; George in "She Loves Me", Linus in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", and Grantaire in "Les Miserables" were all wonderful experiences. Malcolm MacGregor in "The Full Monty" just might be topping that chart.
Q: Tell us about your character in "The Full Monty".
A: When you meet Malcolm he's kind of a mess. He's lonely, he's naive, his mother still dresses him... He goes from a lost little boy in a man's body to discovering where he fits in and being comfortable in his own skin.
Q: What is the best advice you can give to anyone interested in becoming an actor?
A: The same advice I would give to anyone: Do what you're passionate about. Study everything. Be open to change. Be prepared for rejection. And most importantly, use every possible opportunity to be creating something, even when you're not on a contract.
Q: When you are not on stage, where can you be found?
A: Spending time with my beautiful Kimberly and our darling daughter Harper, watching a ball game, relaxing on the golf course, getting to know the Pacific Northwest, eating good food, buying boots, and learning the language of a one-year-old.
Meet the Athlete
Evan Sharpley
Hometown: Marshall, Michigan
Q: When and where did you start your baseball career?
A: I started playing at a very young age in my hometown, but travel baseball started when I was 9 and that's when it started getting more serious. As I got older we travelled to other states for tournaments.
Q: What’s been your most memorable game and why?
A: Most recently when we won the Northwest League. It was such an awesome feeling to be on the field to win a championship. There aren't many feelings like that one.
Q: How did you celebrate the recent AquaSox Northwest League title?
A: Just being around the team after the game and enjoying the moment. All of our hard work over the season paid off!
Q: What advice can you give to young players hoping to have a career in the minors/majors?
A: Just keep working hard. I am a firm believer that hard work does pay off and that doing the small things the right way will pay dividends in the long run.
Q: What's your favorite place to grab a bite in Downtown Everett?
A: Red Rock Subs
Q: When you're not playing baseball, where can you be found?
A: This is actually the first off-season that I've ever had. I am usually playing football and this fall I'm not, so I am going to have to find something to do until spring training. It will be a great time to just spend at home with family and friends.
