Meet the staff

Maksim Gayvoronskiy

Downtown Banya

Q: Describe your business:
A: Downtown Banya offers the only authentic and traditional Russian sauna experience and makes it available to enjoy right here in Everett in a hip, modern and urban setting. We combine centuries of tradition with innovation in modern technology to foster an atmosphere where one can truly relax and rejuvenate. Our highlights are definitely our 230-degree sauna and 33-degree ice cold plunge that creates an endorphin releasing experience like no other. Even still there is much more to do with the availability of an authentic Russian restaurant, an accommodating lounge area and a full service space delivering top notch massage services - dramatically improving the experience all together. We love to have fun, so come and warm up your warming skills!

Q: What do you like best about working in Downtown Everett?
A: We really enjoy the cozy downtown feeling Everett has to offer. The landscape is attractive and constantly improving. The new buildings that keep coming are always a fun surprise. Most of all, we are excited about the limitless potential that Downtown Everett breeds. We love and believe in Downtown Everett and are pleased to be considered one of its great new "spices."

Q: What is your favorite item/special that you currently carry?
A: In all of the Pacific Northwest, (from the North Pole down to California to be more specific) we boast being the only authentic Russian bathhouse (per Russian standards) and are able to offer our guests a mini vacation like no other. The contrast in temperature between our dry sauna and cold pool are enjoyed by many and has become a craving for many. We are also the only authentic Russian restaurant in Downtown Everett, serving a magnificent array of interesting foods.

Q:
What is your favorite neighborhood lunch spot?

A: Mr. Z makes up some great burgers and the new guys across the street from Major League Pizza seem to know what's they're doing! (We need to get out more!)

Q: When you’re not manning the shop you can be found...
A: Giving piggy back rides to my kids during kid services (kids ministry), leading my small groups (always at Downtown Banya), designing MaksimVictoria t-shirts, eating Pho...lots and lots of Pho...designing, writing and building other folks' websites at our Kizographics studio downtown, relaxing at Downtown Banya (yes, excessive relaxing) and spending quality time with family, friends and folks who really matter!

What do you like best about living in Downtown Everett?

A: The people; hearing what's new in town from Mike the Mailman and Neal the Barber, watching new construction going up, the variety of events held in town like the annual car show, bike show, and the changing art displays on the streets.  And also being able to walk to events held at the Comcast Arena, Everett Performing Arts Center, and The Historic Everett Theatre.

Q: What are your favorite neighborhood spots?
A: Local restaurants along Colby and Hewitt Avenues and the great coffee shops; Starbucks and Tully's on Colby and Bargreen's on Rucker Avenue.
